Because of their enormous impact on the music industry over the years, The Platters were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1990. A most prestigious honor for these rock & roll legends!

What keeps The Jones & Mathews Tribute to The Platters in demand is partly due to lead singer Ritchie Jones. A fifteen year veteran, Jones was personally hired and trained by The Platters original manager and producer Buck Ram.

"Buck Ram taught me the tradition of The Platters, the attitude, the elegance, how to deliver songs in the traditional Platter way."

Second tenor Darrell Mathews also adds to the authentic Platter sound serving as the group music director as well as second tenor.

"I was trained by the late Buck Ram as music director of our show. We try to stick to the way things were done originally. We still use the original charts and arrangements. Our vocal arrangements are also as close to the original as possible. The fans certainly agree as concerts continue to draw standing room only crowds all over the world."

From the Buck Ram-produced album, "This Time Around," Ritchie Jones wrote and sang lead on "Think Twice" which was a hit on the album. Think Twice quickly became a hit in Europe. The liner notes for this particular Platters album were written by the legendary Dick Clark, and he mentions both Jones and Mathews as exciting new songwriters and members of The Platters!

In the 1980s and 1990s, with both Mathews and Jones as members of The Platters, they continued to produce hit selling albums, television commercials, (i.e. Red Lobster Restaurants) and movie / documentary programs through the globe. Their impact on modern music has stood the test of time in every way imaginable. 

After leaving the Buck Ram-led Platters, Jones became a lead singer with the California based Robi Platters group, where they continued to travel the world performing to sold-out concert halls. While in Montreal, Canada this particular group was the focus of a major documentary on The Platters. Continuing their globetrotting tradition, this group also recorded and released albums in various countries world-wide, in English as well as foreign tongues.

Today's lineup of The Jones & Mathews Tribute To The Platters consists of Ritchie Jones on load vocals, Darrell Mathews as second tenor, Mario Kinsey as bass singer, and Diane Mathis - female vocalist.
