MONROE
POWELL
|
Before
joining the Buck Ram-led Platters, replacing lead singer Sonny Turner
in 1970, Monroe sang with both The Dominoes and The Ink Spots. Born and
raised in New York City, he is a highly trained singer and spent his youth
in voice and opera training. He has a remarkable vocal range and his solo
styling, characterized by swelling crescendos, plaintive whispers, and
hushed pauses, varies only slightly from the group's original style. His
early years with The Dominoes and The Ink Spots, and his long association
with The Platters has earned him a place in music history. No other man
or woman has continuously been with Buck Ram and The Platters as long as
Monroe Powell. A soft spoken individual, Monroe never fails to delight
his audience with his classy showmanship. He currently resides in Las Vegas,
Nevada. |

DON
GLOUDE
|
A
native of New Orleans, Don has a velvet bass-baritone voice and
a
roving range. Don’s performances are viewed as exciting, tasteful
and
energetic with a repertoire of contemporary, pop, top forty and
jazz,
while the mood changes with an occasional romantic and luscious melody
of yesterday. Don started his career at age seven hosting a children’s
radio show entitled “Stairway to Stardom”. In his teens he was a fixture
in the vocal group “The Del Rays”, who released several successful records.
Don has appeared in some of the finest hotels and clubs across the country,
Canada and Europe. Don had appearances in the movie “Bullit” with Steve
McQueen, the series “Crime Story” and under the direction of Robert Adler,
starred in the revised musical “Meet The People”. Don had the lead roles
in stage presentations of “Pygmalion” and “A Raisin in the Sun”. Don has
also been a co-host of the Easter Seals Telethon. Don is equally
at home in the recording studio as a singer, producer and arranger and
plays a strange looking instrument called the “EVI”, a horn synthesizer.
Don’s sense of vocal styling, acting and comedy makes Don Gloudé
an entertainment favorite.

CHICO
LAMAR

A
native of Oklahoma, Chico comes to you with a dynamic tenor/baritone voice.
Chico is an internationally famous singer in his own right and has broadened
his widespread popularity throughout the world. Chico is a former singer
with “The Buck Ram Platters” and worked with the “Ink Spots”, “The Hi Fi’s”
and “The Hollywood Highlanders”. Chico started his own group “Double Exposure”
and has performed across the country, Canada and around the world. Singing
past favorites or a modern repertoire, Chico’s musical talents and professional
magnetism have captivated his many audiences of all ages. Whatever the
occasion, Chico will excite and delight you.

ROBBIE
ROBINSON
|
Robbie
was born and raised in Greensboro, North Carolina and is now a current
resident of Las Vegas, NV. Robbie has a long and distinguished career in
the music industry as both vocalist and musician. His credits include many
musical groups, including The Dominos and the Ink Spots. Robbie has worked
as a backup singer for several other popular groups, including The Platters.
Robbie’s “repertoire” also includes appearances in the movies such as “Rock
All Night” with The Platters, and
“Pillow
Talk”, with Rock Hudson and Doris Day. Robbie has worked opposite such
legends as Louis Armstrong and Cab Callaway in Hollywood, and for 8 years
during the 60’s, with the Robinson Brothers at the Riviera in Las Vegas.
Robbie is now devoting his talents to his long time friend, MONROE POWELL
and THE PLATTERS.

DEBORAH
SHERMAN
|
The
First Lady of The Platters hails from Queens, New York. Honing her musical
talents at a young age afforded her the opportunity to perform with the
Steven Scott Orchestra, Hank Lane Orchestras and in many corporate and
caberet shows. She has appeared on numerous recordings doing background
vocals, both session performances and live vocals. She was probably most
well known as a member of the famed girl-group The Crystals, where she
traveled extensively internationally. While performing with the Crystals,
she played various cruise ships such as NCL, Holland America, Royal Caribbean,
Holland House, and Princess. She has also appeared on PBS-TV's "Doo Wop
51" and "Chapel of Love." After relocating to the Las Vegas area, Deborah
left the Crystals and began singing with the Marvelettes, performing in
"Legends of Motown" shows at Cesar's Palace with the Temptations and Four
Tops as well as with other legends and in many other venues. She has a
smoky, soulful voice that is sure to touch the heart and soul. |
