that after a 6 year hiatus from national and international touring, the
"Queen of High Energy" herself, Evelyn Thomas, is back in action and better
than ever!
This native of Chicago, Illinois has been writing, acting, singing, and
dancing since the age of seven. Early in her professional career, she met
English producer Ian Levine and almost immediately had a #5 dance hit on
the UK charts titled Weak Spot. Soon she was appearing on Britain’s top
television shows such as Top of Pops and touring with a 10 piece
orchestra.
In 1984, Evelyn recorded the monstrous dance hit, "High Energy," written
and produced by Levine and his partner Friachra Trench, on the Record Shack
Records label. This topped the charts at number 1 throughout the world,
has been covered, remixed, repackaged and resold for the last 15 years,
and is commonly thought of as the anthem of popular dance music. Additionally,
along the path of selling over 20 millions copies world-wide, it created
a genre of music unto its own.
Just some of the names that Evelyn shared the stage with, in nearly 20
different countries, were George Michael, Evelyn "Champaign" King, and
Gloria Gaynor... look for some of these very reunions.
You may have last seen her in 1995 on the Ricki Lake Show, but today Evelyn
Thomas, along with husband/music director Anthony Simpson, is once again
on tour. She’s mixing the hits with new material... in promotion of her
new Gospel musical production, Tell The World His Name... in a show that
is better than ever!
Residing in SW Florida, Thomas has recently signed an exclusive management
contract with Celebrity Direct and is accepting offers from venues and
